Yellow, Black and White and TIFF Festival

12 September 2020

The 45th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival and the largest North American film market, TIFF Industry, kicked off in Toronto on Thursday, September 10. This year the participants will experience a pandemic version of the festival as the combination of online and offline events.

Yellow, Black and White and its streaming service Start introduce to the North American market Russian best-selling series Gold Diggers (or Russian Affairs), a glossy addictive crime drama with Matryoshka Doll storylines – where there are many threads to the story, nothing is quite what it seems, and each story hides or leads into another. Gold Diggers became the first Russian show picked up by Amazon Prime for Amazon Originals and Exclusives, and British Channel 4 platform Walter Presents — a quality collection of award-winning foreign-language drama. Season 3 coming soon.

Another series featured on TIFF is a brand new psychological thriller from the creators of Gold Diggers — A Good Man. Based on a true story, inspired by the capture of Russia’s most prolific and brutal serial killer “the maniac of Angarsk”, A Good Man looks at everyday violence in quiet suburbia. The series premiered in Russia on Start earlier this August.
