This epic series is set in17th Century, when Peter the Great expanded the Russian Empire to Asia, adding to the empire the melting pot of Siberia, a region where vast riches and great misery often intertwined. Ivan Demarin is a young officer on a Tsar’s errand heads into the heart of Siberia where he meets his first love. Siberia is dangerous, Demarin’s regiment is drawn into a conspiracy by civil servants who are hunting for the Shikend Gold. Battles break out, and Ivan’s fortress is under siege, surrounded by lawless war-like Dzungars and Chinese Smugglers, escape seems impossible….
